No, you do not need to install a browser extension to use Ganttify with Trello. The Ganttify integration works entirely through your web browser without any additional software.
How the Trello integration works without the extension
When you connect your Trello account to Ganttify, the integration uses Trello’s official API to access your boards and cards. You can create Gantt charts from any Trello board, sync card dates, labels, and assignments, view and manage project timelines, and share Gantt charts with your team. All of this works directly in your browser at gantt-chart.com without installing anything.
What does the browser extension do?
For your convenience, we have created the Gantt chart for Trello browser extension for Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.
The optional browser extension adds a quick-access button directly inside your Trello boards. This allows you to open the Gantt chart view with a single click while you’re working in Trello, making it faster to switch between your board and your timeline view. You’ll also see a visual indicator showing which boards have Gantt charts enabled.
Should I install the extension?
The browser extension is worth installing if you frequently switch between Trello and Ganttify and want quick access to your Gantt charts without leaving Trello. It’s particularly useful if you prefer having your project management tools integrated in one place.
On the other hand, if you primarily access your Gantt charts from the Ganttify dashboard or share them with stakeholders who don’t use Trello, you may not need the extension at all.
Supported browsers
The Gantt chart for Trello extension is available for Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. It works on any operating system that supports these browsers, including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
