Ganttify no longer uses notes to store task data. The information below is kept for historical reference only.
In earlier versions of Ganttify for Todoist, we stored task information (like start dates and durations) in the notes field of your Todoist tasks and projects. This is no longer the case.
What changed?
Ganttify has been updated to use a more efficient method of storing task data. As a result, the custom notes that Ganttify previously created are no longer needed. Your Gantt charts will continue to work without these notes.
When you first open a Gantt chart after this update, Ganttify will attempt to automatically remove any notes it previously created. However, some notes may still remain if:
- The original creator of the notes hasn’t opened the Gantt chart yet
- The automatic cleanup couldn’t complete for some reason
Can I delete old Ganttify notes?
Yes, you can safely delete any notes that Ganttify created in your Todoist tasks or projects. These notes typically contain metadata that looks like encoded data. Removing them will not affect how your Gantt chart displays.
To clean up remaining notes:
- Open your Gantt chart in Ganttify — this triggers automatic cleanup
- If notes persist, you can manually delete them from your Todoist tasks
Still seeing this message?
If you’re still seeing messages about Ganttify notes after opening your Gantt chart, ask other team members who have access to the project to open the Gantt chart as well. The notes can only be automatically removed by the user who originally created them.
