Sometimes when you create a Gantt chart of your Basecamp project, you don’t need all the information to show up in the chart. You can manually choose to hide certain rows of data from your Gantt chart altogether, and bring them back whenever you need them.
Why hide rows?
Not every item in your Basecamp project belongs on a Gantt chart. Administrative to-dos, recurring tasks, or completed items from previous phases can clutter your timeline and make it harder to focus on what matters. By hiding these rows, you can create a streamlined chart that highlights active work and key milestones while keeping irrelevant items out of sight.
This is particularly helpful when sharing your Gantt chart with stakeholders who only need to see the big picture, or when you want to focus your own planning on a specific phase of the project.
How to hide rows
To hide a row, right-click on any item in the left panel of your Gantt chart and select the hide option. You can hide individual to-dos, entire to-do lists, or schedule events. The hidden items disappear from your chart immediately but remain untouched in Basecamp.
How to show hidden rows
Changed your mind? You can bring back any hidden row at any time. Right-click in the row area and select the option to show hidden items. A list of everything you’ve hidden will appear, letting you restore individual items or reveal everything at once.
Your Basecamp data stays safe
Hiding rows only affects your Gantt chart view. Nothing is written to your Basecamp project, so your teammates will continue to see everything in Basecamp as normal, and you can adjust your view freely without worrying about unintended changes.
